Blue Ribbon Eel

(Rhinomuraena quaesita)

Is a species of eel of the family Muraenidae (Moray eels) that is found  in Indian and Pacific waters. They are fairly big for their size growing up to 36 in long. The name ribbon comes from their long thin blue and yellow bodies (mostly blue in males, yellow in females) which when the animal swims makes it look like a ribbon.

Quick eel PSA: just because an eels mouth is open it’s not ready to attack, that’s how they breathe.
